In September, our primary school pupils were lucky enough to spend a day at Hangar Y for an exhibition devoted to toys and their history. If you too would like to discover this new cultural venue, we recommend the new program: ‘les ateliers extraordinaires’. Three immersive virtual reality expeditions around Monet, Van Gogh and Gaudí. A fun way to immerse yourself and your children (aged 8 and over) in the world of these three major figures of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Following in the footsteps of our Maternelle children, who were lucky enough to discover the exhibition 'Pop Forever, Tom Wesselmann &', there are several options for family visits to the Fondation Louis Vuitton:
the baby tour for children aged 6 to 24 months, a gentle visit at the opening of the Foundation
the storytelling tour for 3-5 year-olds

To coincide with the exciting 'Figures du fou' exhibition, the Louvre is offering a workshop in which your children can create their own Joker card in the company of a comic-book illustrator. It's only a short step from the jester of Charles VI to the Joker of Batman !
In a different style, the ‘bouquet d’aquarelle’ workshop, where children can experiment with watercolour and ink floral compositions, will keep them busy for 2 hours (every weekend in November at 15h30). And if they'd like to accompany you on 'Figures du fou', the booklet you can pick up at the Studio (a place dedicated to children) and the commentary panels are very well done, both entertaining and instructive (for adults and children alike).
As always at the Louvre, the one-hour family tours 'Petits contes en peintures' (every weekend and Wednesday at 14h30) are also ideal for discovering the stories behind a selection of paintings.
The Fondation Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé celebrates its 10th anniversary in the building designed by Renzo Piano, with an exhibition dedicated to the famous Italian architect. It's an opportunity to discover this beautiful building and enjoy a rich program of original, high-quality silent film concerts and workshops for the whole family. The workshops take place in the heart of the Foundation's collection, in the cinematographic equipment gallery. They continue in the projection room with a screening of silent films accompanied by piano music.
Here are the ones that particularly caught our attention:
an architecture workshop designed and led by the Conseil d'Architecture d'Urbanisme et de l'Environnement de Paris to discover the history of the site.
a workshop to assemble a film from images taken from the silent films in the Pathé collection, using a 'Mash up table’.
a session to soundtrack a silent film by manipulating percussion instruments.

Orchestre Lamoureux has created the original concept of a concert specially designed for children aged 0 to 5. In an intimate, relaxed atmosphere, the orchestra plays musical pieces for toddlers for 30 minutes. Listening times alternate with moments of interaction, sometimes with the musicians inviting themselves into the auditorium, right in the middle of the audience. A playful way to introduce music to the very young.
Upcoming concerts at Salle Gaveau and Théâtre de l'Atelier will feature the flute and the brass band respectively.
