Dear parents,
A page will be turned in September.
Ian is leaving us to enjoy, as he wishes, a well-deserved retirement. As he also wishes, he will be part of our College of Experts and will continue to stand by our side to offer his valuable advice, to share his experience, to support us.
That was our agreement, 5 years together, five years of active involvement in making Union School a success. This is the case and I would like to express my deep gratitude to him. His departure will be celebrated with all of you, before the summer!
To replace him, we absolutely needed an exceptional profile!
We have found her.
Coralie Manhes-Sims' CV is breathtaking, see for yourself!
After obtaining a master's degree in English from the Université Jean Moulin in Lyon, Coralie obtained her teacher training qualification in 2007.
She then joined the prestigious École Jeannine Manuel Paris, where she taught in the Year 1 and Year 3 classes for two years. Then it was off to New York, where she joined the equally prestigious Lycée Français. She stayed there for five years, teaching FLE (French as a Foreign Language) in Receptionn class and the French Éducation nationale programme in Year 3.
Her qualities were such that she was approached by the École Jeannine Manuel to take over the management of its brand new London school. Coralie thus became the first Head of Primary at EJM London, where she worked for eight years. It was during this period that she completed the ‘Learn to Lead’ programme at INSEAD.
At the same time, she married an English man: Mr Sims. They went on to have two adorable little girls, Ophélie and Zoé, who we will have the immense pleasure of welcoming to the TPS and MS classes at the start of the next school year.
These births were accompanied by the desire for the ‘Le Petit Daycare’ project. Coralie therefore opened a crèche but very quickly returned to teaching. She then left London to join the International School of Monaco, where she is teaching this year in Reception and Year 1.
That's where we went to get her. For this, I would like to thank Vannina Boussouf, Primary School Director at the Lycée Français in New York, from the bottom of my heart for recommending her to me and putting us in touch. Thank you so much, Vannina!
Like Vannina, all the people we interviewed - professionals and parents - praised Coralie. Then the whole of the Dream Team Union School was also completely won over.
So we are extremely happy to see her joining us in September!
Before that, SAVE THE DATE! You will all be able to meet her
on 22 May at the school.
And even before that, I suggest you get to know her in a slightly more personal way, as I have invited her to take the Proust Questionnaire.
Coralie also answers our classic questions in the ‘When I was a student’ section.
Finally, she shares a short video with us to introduce her family.
We are sure you will be as excited as we are!
